Less than five minutes walk from İstiklâl Cad. (originally the Grande Rue de Pera) it is fifteen minutes walk to Taksim Square, which is considered the centre of Istanbul

For a holiday or conference stay you can become one of Istanbul's local residents.

Guests are usually welcomed on arrival by the British owner who has lived in the area for the past ten years, or by his representative.

On arrival you will find a complimentary bottle of local wine, fruit and flowers. There is also a copy of The Welcome Guide to Turkey (Welcome House 1998) originally published as Coping with Turkey (Blackwell 1988) signed by the author who happens also to be the owner of the flat.

Tea, coffee and sugar will be found in the kitchen and milk in the fridge. ' Sweet ' water (i.e. bottled) is available from a tap over the sink

There is a welcome pack with useful phone numbers such as the corner shop that delivers, taxis, and emergency numbers should they be required.

The book on the bookshelves are there for you to read, including local guides. Visitors should consider themselves paying guests rather than tenants. It is a home from home.
